The Sheriff’s Office receives hundreds of arrest warrants each month from the District Court, and assists other local, state and federal agencies in the service of their warrants within the county as well.

Warrants can only be confirmed through personal contact with Butler County Emergency Communications, the Butler County Jail and/or the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. If you know the whereabouts of any wanted person, do not take action on your own!

Over the past few years legislation has stepped up increasing requirements and duties for Kansas Sheriff’s Office’s related to registering sexual, violent, and drug offenders. Recently Kansas introduced even more stringent registration requirements for these offenders in the interests of public safety and keeping the community informed.
The Sheriff’s Office works to register these offenders and also monitor their activities and information to ensure that they are compliant with their reporting.
