Undersheriff Tony Wilhite


Undersheriff WilhiteUndersheriff Wilhite began his public safety career in 1990 with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, serving as a detention deputy.  In 1991 he joined the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office.  While employed at Greenwood County, he graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in 1992 and continued to serve the people of Greenwood County until early 1995.

In February of 1995 he joined the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, serving as a Patrol Deputy until 1998 when he was promoted to Detective in the Investigations Division.  He investigated numerous cases until 2001 when he transferred to the Butler County Attorneys office to serve 7 years as their Investigator where he assisted agencies within Butler County to produce quality cases for successful prosecution.  Undersheriff Wilhite has attended numerous professional training sessions over the years, as well as instructing on a variety of topics.

January, 2010 he returned to the Sheriff’s Office again to help lead the Investigations Division as Detective Sergeant.  In that capacity he supervised the division's Detectives and oversaw many investigations in this role.  Additionally he served as the departments NCIC liaison, ensuring compliance and overseeing the department’s staff with their important access to this national computer crime fighting system.

In May, 2011 Sheriff Herzet appointed Wilhite as Undersheriff to assist in overseeing the operations of the department.  He proudly serves the citizens of Butler County in this role today.
